Changing of the Zords
--The Fight
Tommy looked warily about the mist filled cavern as he entered the porthole. It was dank, dark, and filled with the smell of stale water. He swallowed, slowly pacing through the winding tunnel before him, his eyes searching the gloom for Kimberly.
As he trod through the labyrinth, his ears began to pick up on a strange beating noise, an electronic pulsation. He picked up pace, following his ears until, rounding a corner, he saw it, hid in the corner of an open chamber - Kimberly was lain there, strapped onto a platform, needles inserted into her arms and linked up to some horrific looking device. Every thud of her heart seemed to send a pulsation throughout the machine, and Tommy guessed that with every beat, Kim’s energy was drained from her body. Her life was being sucked away…
He rushed over to her side, eyes searching her; “Kimberly,” he sighed, beside himself - he didn’t know what to say or what to do. She was completely unconscious, unable to hear him or know he was there, but still, he clasped her clammy, weak hand in his and prayed for her survival.
“Don’t you worry - everything’s going to be fine,” he said, running his other hand over her pale brow, feeling tears of distress and rage well up in his eyes, “I’m gonna get you out of here.”
Slowly, a sensation began to creep up on the unsuspecting White Ranger, a sensation of utter and complete darkness, as though a hole were being bore through his mind and draining the sensations away into nothingness. He paused, swallowing a lump down his throat. The entire cavern felt as though it had changed.
Turning steadily, Tommy stared into the gloom, watching as the lofty form of the Emperor materialised from out of the shadows.
/Man, I’d like to get my hands on Lord Zedd just once!/
His eyes narrowed, his rage simmered and his fists clenched.
The Emperor stared back, sceptre held nonchalantly by his side, “It looks like someone’s trying to double-cross me,” he mused, giving his staff a twirl; “So now, you and your precious pink princess may just have to perish together.”
Tommy’s glare darkened ever more, “No… I don’t think so,” he hissed.
Lord Zedd said nothing. He remained stood where he was, unmoving and seemingly unfeeling.
“It’s Morphin Time,” the White Ranger murmured, thrusting his Morpher out before him as the powers of the Morphin Grid and the White Tiger combined, enveloping him in a white light before he stood there, transformed into the White Ranger.
“Well, if you want to do things the hard way…” Zedd shrugged.
“I’m ready for you,” Tommy growled.
“Are you?” the Emperor returned, pacing toward the boy.
Tommy began circling to his left, keeping his distance from the Nimian warlord.
/I’d like to get my hands on Lord Zedd just once/
Yes, he was ready.
